Another Dreamer

One of the things I love most about Deep Creek Lake is its array of locally-owned establishments. At local restaurants, the atmosphere is laid-back from the attire of the staff and patrons to the music to the decor to the plating - but don’t let that fool you. These business people take their business seriously. Each place we visit, the owners and staff are focused on quality - their product(s), your experience, and the sustainability of the business.

We’d been visiting Deep Creek Lake for more than six months before we came across Deep Creek Seafood. Nate, the owner, spent more than 15 years at the upscale Oceanaire seafood chain before realizing his dream of opening his own place in the same area his family had been visiting his entire life: Deep Creek Lake. The first thing I’ll say is that he nailed the food; it is consistently incredible and the menu changes regularly. The second thing I’ll say is that Nate and his team care about their customers. I once struggled to decide between two dishes so he paired them down and gave me half of each. The third and final point I’ll make it that Nate keeps a fantastic and extensive whiskey collection. Given his knowledge of the whiskeys, he’ll also arrange a flight for you to enjoy.

You can’t go wrong at this restaurant. If you like seafood or just want a good steak, this is the place for you.
